Blog Posts Overview
Blog Posts are where all of your blog posts live. Posts will always appear with the most recent post at the top of the list. Posts will be organized by month. You can create new posts, preview and edit existing posts, and remove posts.
Accessing Blog Posts
From the Menu, click on POSTS.
A blog component must be placed into a page in order for it to be viewed.
Post Bar
Each post has a Post Bar.
To turn comments off or on toggle the comment on/off link.
To edit the post, title and tags click INFO.
To edit the post content click EDIT.
To preview the content click PREVIEW.
To remove a post content click REMOVE. This will delete the post permanently.
To review comments click COMMENTS.
Blog Months
Posts are archived by month. Navigate to past months with the links on the left of the home screen.
Post States
Your posts will go through several published states while you work on them.
A Published post is the most current version of the post. A Published post will appear on your blog and appear live to the web.
A Draft post has not been published. It is not live to the web.
Blog Components
A blog component must be placed into a page in order for it to be viewed.
Blog Navigation will show just the blog navigation.
Blog Posts will show just the posts.
Blog With Navigation will show the posts and the navigation.
Blog Settings
Blog Enabled
To enable your blog set the switch to YES, to disable switch to NO.
Share Button
The share button will allow your visitors to share your blog posts on their own social media accounts. To enable sharing set the switch to ON, to disable switch to OFF.
Navigation Settings
A blog has multiple ways to navigate to past posts, a Calendar, Archive Pulldown, Recent Posts, and Recent Posts Count.
Calendar
To enable set the switch to ON, to disable switch to OFF.
Archive Pulldown
To enable set the switch to ON, to disable switch to OFF.
Recent Posts
To enable set the switch to ON, to disable switch to OFF.
Recent Post Count
Enter the number of recent posts to appear on your blog.
Labels
Each blog label can be customized. Enter the text for the label in the field, leave the field blank if no text is needed.
Calendar Label
This is the label that will appear above your calendar. Example: Blog Calendar
Archive Pulldown Label
This is the label that will appear above your archive pulldown. Example: Past Months
Recent Posts Label
This is the label that will appear above the recent posts. Example: Recent Posts
Comments Section Title
This is the label that will appear above the comment section. Example: Comments
Write a Comment Form Title
This is the label that will appear above the comment form field. Example: Leave a Comment
Comment Button Label
This is the name of your comment button. Example: Submit Comment
Comments Closed Title
This is the name for closed comments. Example: Comments are Closed
Commenting
Commenting can be turned off for all of your blog posts, or individually at the each post.
Enable Comments
To enable comment set the switch to YES, to disable switch to NO.
Comment Period
This optional setting allows you to automatically disable commenting on posts after a certain time period. Enter the number of days you want to keep commenting open. For Example: 30 days, 7 days
Require Captcha
Captcha will require the user to answer a question before posting a comment. This is used to distinguish the commenter is a human and not a robot. To enable captcha set the switch to YES, to disable switch to NO.
Akismet Key
Akismet is a comment spam filtering service which can optionally be enabled for ON Made Daily. If you do not have a Akismet key you can get one here: akismet.com/plans
Creating a New Post
To create a new post click the NEW POST button.
Enter the Title of the post.
Enter the post keyword tags. Separate tags with commas.
Turn comments OFF if you don’t want comments.
Design and compose your post.
Preview your post and then Publish Your Post when ready.
Monitoring Comments
To monitor comments click on the COMMENTS link from the Post Bar or the COMMENTS link in Post main toolbar.
To edit a comment click EDIT.
To remove a comment click REMOVE.
